Supernatural Study Guide Polidori's "The Vampyre" and Byron's "Augustus Darvell"

17 pages

$2.50

Downloadable ebook

John Polidori’s novella “The Vampyre” was the first vampire story produced in English. It was written for an audience hungry for gothic horror. Thought at that time to have been written by Lord Byron, it took society by storm. It firmly moved the vampire from the graveyard zombie-like revenant to the rakish desirable upper-class rake. It was based upon Byron’s “Fragment of a Novel (usually known as) “Augustus Darvell.” This Study Guide places the two handily side-by-side for comparison purposes.

Do you lack the time to read the stories but still want to join the conversation?

Do you need a chapter by chapter break-down of the plots?

Do you need paper ideas?

Then you need the Supernatural Study Guide. It features;

  • short discussions of the both authors
  • a full listing of characters
  • a summaries of the plot
  • chapter summaries
  • summary of vampire characteristics in both stories
  • a list of critical methodologies and suggested topics for each
Loosely based on the popular study guides produced by Cliff Notes and Spark Notes, the Supernatural Study Guide is dedicated to guiding you towards a greater understanding of the stories when you have time to read them.

[As a favor to my students,(who should NOT confess to using this), I have reduced the price for Oct. 08 ONLY]
