Sweet Goth Blog

Sweet Goth (also known as Leslie) has a thing about vampires and other supernatural creatures and habitats. She will be traveling to a conference focusing on Vampires in April, and gets to not only discuss vampires for two solid days, but visit the British Library and Highgate cemetery. (Enough third person.) I will be blogging the experience of London and about the conference papers I get to hear there. Since my Website at this point is mostly about Victorian vampires, it makes sense to put modern stuff on the blog.

Also, some topics about vampires don't really merit a full webpage, or just cry out for reader participation, a thing which is just too expensive to provide on the traditional webpage. I am hoping to have the best of both worlds, blog and website.

Throwing an incredibly haunting Halloween party is not that difficult with a bit of imagination and a little help from The Spider Queen's Guide to the Halloween Party of your Nightmares. The Spider Queen will lead you through the web of intricacies, past the pitfalls of sticky moments, to the most memorable Halloween party you ever put together. The guidance is divided into age appropriate groupings, since small spiders play in different ways than larger (adult) spiders. Some of the games suggested games are appropriate for all age spiders while some are best for the smaller spiders only.

The guide is broken into two sections, one for adult spiders whose small spiders wish to give a party, and the second for adults. I leave out teenagers – they are creatures with rules that are beyond the scope of this guide.

At first I bought this book because I liked the cover and it was affordable. I've gotta say, it was worth it. It offers great tips for how to run an all-inclusive party, keep people entertained, and ideas on how to keep children's parties fun and not too thrown together.

My favorite part of the book is the games section. I had been expecting a few new games with the rest being ones I already knew. I was wrong. While there were a few games I'd already heard of, there was a higher ratio of games I didn't know to ones that I did. This makes it cool in my book.

I highly recommend this book to anyone that's looking for unique, fun party ideas. (Tia Kindle Review)
