Serial Vampires for Fun and Pleasure

There is nothing quite like a vampire novel; the reader has time and leisure to sink their fangs into it. Serial vampires novels are for fun and pleasure. Before opening the first page of any serial, ask yourself these questions. Can reading vampires provide you both fun and pleasure? Are you into para-normal relationships? Love the whole vampire on human sex thing? Looking for some fairly light reading for the beach, train, or waiting room? If you are beyond the whole Twilight thing, these suggestions are for you. And note, while the following suggestions are for books that are quick and easy reads, they are well-written AND worthy of rereading; both necessary qualities for adding physical books to the overcrowded bookshelves. These are not in the Young Adult or Teen section of the bookstore because they are vampire ROMANCES, and we all know that these days that means throbbing manhoods sliding into warm moist caves.

Begin with High Stakes: Vegas Vampires Series. It features very likeable female protagonists who, while taking charge of their own lives and looking after each other, wind up taking charge of the hot male vampires around them. It is set in Las Vegas in a world in which vampires haven’t “come out” to humans and have their own political structures with rigid rules of conduct. When the rigid vampire world meets the thoroughly modern human woman, explosions of many sorts follow.

Continue with Katie Macalister’s Dark One Novels are a particularly delightful read. She creates an entire cohesive world in which the vampires, “Dark Ones,” and their mates, “beloveds,” find each other for eternal blood and sexual pleasure. These books are as hot as the vampires.

The following suggested series features a world in which supernatural creatures are embedded within humanity: it is a world of werewolves and vampires. The protagonist of Keri Arthur’s world, Riley Jensen, is a member of a paranormal policing force meant to keep humans safe from preternatural creatures. As the series grows, her character grows in depth and experience as well. She eventually will need to choose between her vampire lover, or her werewolf lover; they aren’t willing to share.

Happy Hour at the Casa Dracula is a delightful series with a fun and feisty female protagonist. Being a romance and all, there are issues that must be overcome before she can be overcome. There are now three books in the series which means triple the reading pleasure for you.

Altogether the above series should give you enough reading to get you through the rest of the summer doldrums while firmly entering these vampire hunks into your daydreams.
